It starts today...

My new job, that is.

A friend posted on my Facebook wall to wish me luck at my return to freedom. I had not thought of it like that - I have been too busy fretting over the changes we'll be making to routines. But I like her thinking...it's positive and the start of something new and very exciting.

I will be more of me again, I think. More Lucy. Less "Mummy"?

Wish me luck?

  1. Good lucky Lucy, I'll be thinking of you. I remember the nerves of returning to work after a long hiatus and 4 children to kiss goodbye in the morning. Terrifying but exhilarating at the same time. You are heading back to work with so many more skills and so much to offer. You will be a star and yes, this will be the beginning of a lot more Lucy but probably just as much mummy - just squeezed in to less time. xxx

  4. Oh best of luck. It's scary at first huh. If it gets hard, hide in the toilet, it's what I've done. Xx Bern

  6. The faster heartbeats of excitement and apprehension will flush out any plaque lurking in your arteries. See this as a good thing. I wish you the best for the beginning of a wonderful new working career. Don't forget to save 10 percent of your wages for YOU!

  7. Good luck Lucy. I am sure it will go well. Thinks of all the skills you have developed from being a Mum and the skills you still have from when you last worked - I am sure you will be unstoppable...

  12. Yes it will be just for you! I recently re-entered the workforce (outside of the home) and it has been an amazing experience. It is something for me. Some need that, some don't. For me, it has been the best thing I have done in a long time.

Good luck with it all Lucy, I know you will rock it!

  13. Yes, more you less mummy. I love it. It's one of the reasons I step out the door in near dark, commuter mug in hand. More me. Less mum.

Here's to that, and best of luck lovely xxx

  15. I work from home, so I don't think I have that sense of freedom. My home life is still all around me, even though the kids are at school and I'm doing work. But I can imagine how it would feel.

    Good luck Lucy!

  16. I hope your first day and first week back working outside of home went well. I think freedom is one way of looking at it but I like your More Lucy idea too.
