Kindy Girl...

I posted recently about Charlie and how he has settled so happily into school life.

At the same time that Charlie started in Reception, Lexie started a new term at Kindy. Two full days a week.

She loves it.

From 9am until 3pm, she is utterly engrossed in the craft, the stories, the hatchling chickens, the new computer, the sandpit and the trampoline.

She loves that she has her own little friends, and is greeted by lots of other eager four year old little girls when we arrive at the gate.

Today was no exception.

Apart from today was a bit special.

Lexie has a new kindy bag.

She is resigned to being the "hand me down kid",  poor Lexie. She is the final girl of a lot of girl cousins. Her wardbrobe is FULL to bursting of gorgeous (but second hand) gear.

Last term she was the posessor of a (fairly scruffy) hand-me-down kindy bag. (Which was a bit babyish, apparently, as it was Winnie the Pooh?)

So can you imagine her utter pride and delight at her very own new kids backpack........

It is from Mooo, and it is just lovely. They have a whole range of school bags that can be designed from a huge array of colours, sizes, designs and color patettes, so they suit literally any child or family. (I am quite tempted to get one for myself to be honest, as a gym bag?)

I ordered Lexie's last week, and despite her being fairly choosy on the colour, size, design and palette, as well as opting to have it personalised, it arrived in two days. (Amazingly fast service. Which is handy to know as Mooo also stock name labels and name tapes, which I have a habit of losing and needing to order at the very last minute.)

Lexie opened the package when it arrived, and I honestly thought she was going to cry with joy - she really really loves it. So much so that she insisted on taking it to bed. Like only a four year old can. And she is happy to pack and unpack her "new school bag". Long may that habit last.

The bag is robust, and the zips seem to be sturdy, which is good, as it's always the zips that seem to go first on my kids school backpacks. The straps are soft and slightly padded, so they don't cut into Lexie's shoulders. Less whining, thank you.

It has to last four terms of intense rough and tumble. I have a feeling it will, and that Lexie will continue to love it.

So if you are in the market for new kids bags of any kind, head over and look at the Mooo site? Their stuff is divine.

And if you would like to be in with a chance to score a $50 gift voucher to spend with Mooo, all you need to do is leave me a comment below, telling me what your favourite item is that you find on the Mooo site. Easy as!

  1. The bag is just perfect & Miss Lexie looks completely in love. I would love to win a voucher for Juliette for preschool next year, though truth be told if I don't win I will definitely be buying one for her anyway! We've already decided on one with a cupcake crest, not sure which colour yet though.

PS: What size did you get?

  2. Sarah, I ended up getting the medium one. I needed it to be big enough for her lunchbox and drink bottle and sunscreen and hat and a bag with a set of spare clothes in. OR big enough for her swimming stuff (plus snack box and drink bottle.)

The medium one holds all that but doesnt look bulging and stuffed....holds its shape nicely.

Gosh - I love ALL of their stuff!

I do a personalised Christmas card every year with a family pic on it, together with a newsletter. BUT - I didn't get one done in time last year! It's so much work, because I make the card and stick the pics on, write in them etc etc...but I see Mooo has Christmas cards with photos and personalised! Yeehaaaa! I'd prob spend the $50 bucks that way.

A great giveaway, hon and Lexie's bag is GORGEOUS. xxx

  12. I was going to comment anyway because I LOVE Mooo's stuff!! For me its a toss-up between the yearly planner/diary and their awesome wall decals. I would love some of them so much - especially the chalkboard speech bubble ones.

I think Lexie's new bag is awesome... though I do have a bit of a bias when it comes to red things :)

  26. Awww that is SO adorable that Lexie took her bag to bed. I love that they love things so passionately that they need to hold them close! So sweet.

I'm assuming I can't be in the running for this one, but for what it's worth I actually love their backpacks. You've made me all envious and I wanna get one for my Lolly for 4yo kindy next year now!

Oh I would definitely go for the personalised lunch bags. As the end of the school year looms, my kids' lunch bags are looking and smelling offensively gross, and appear to be growing some kind of small creatures inside. Oh, this would rule out any other kid taking home my kids' lunch containers home by mistake. (Because there aren't any other kids called Chase and Harmonie at our school ... yet!)

  30. Awesome thanks Lucy, I'll order a medium when the time comes :)

I'm also linking up to your comp tomorrow on my blog.

  33. I found it hard to choose the thing I loved the most, but I think, after having a good look around, it would have to be the Personalised Family Calendar. love love love stationery. I had never heard of Mooo until now, so I'll be checking out the lunch boxes for next year!

Hands down, it's the wall stickers. LOVE them. We're renting at the moment, so having these is a great way to decorate Miss9's room... because apparently Hubby doesn't want them in our room. Not sure what his problem is!

I'm a big, big, BIG fan of the personalised family calendars! They're so cute and since Mama has a terrible memory (prolonged baby brain is the excuse!), a calendar is a must in this household!

  37. Hi Lucy,
Just went and checked it out and have bought a kinder bag for Florence who starts at a new kinder in January - they are divine! Also got a lunch bag for her and for Charlie for school as his is looking very shabby. Anyway, the best thing was the personalised diary - definitely need one of those for next year to plan all of our diaries in the one spot! And probably a matching wall calendar!
Love love love your blog by the way - I just keep coming back!
    Sarah
