More treaty things......

As you may have gathered here, I am currently tasked with makng things for Olivia's school sports day cake stall.

Lexie and I cooked up a storm today.

I recalled, with some fondness, how Chocolate Cornflake Cakes are the UK equivilent to the very Asutralian Chocolate Crackle.

These were a staple treat in most of my friends lunchboxes at both primary and high school.......

So we made a batch. Too easy.

Chocolate Cornflake Cakes

Ingredients

50g butter
100g dark chocolate melts
5 tbsp golden syrup
80g cornflakes

Method

1. Place the butter and the chocolate pieces in a saucepan with the golden syrup. Slowly melt over low heat, stirring. When the mixture is well blended, stir in the cornflakes.

2. Place some small paper cake cases on a tray. Fill each one with a heaped tablespoon of the mixture. Put in the fridge to set.

Lexie, of course, was insistent on laying them out on a tray to take photos, again.

And, as they were left to set in the fridge, set about making some more "treaty fings" from mud, dirt and patty pan cases, using the  garden as her kitchen..........

  1. Ooohh, they look yummy, nice change from chocolate crackles. Feeling the urge to make some - although no reason too - so maybe I will just look at the photo and drool.
