All new...

Ok, well, I have taken the advice of my personal trainer and really increased my protein and reduced my carbs.

Bring on the egg white omelette and the tuna salad.

Every morning I have been getting on the scales, and the weight it is dropping off me!

Here is what I have been doing:

Breakfast: Protein shake (with phylissium added, which keeps me full)

Lunch: An egg white omelette, with a chunk of low fat grated cheese and some veggies in it.

Snack (when the kids eat their dinner) of a tuna salad

Dinner: whatever we are having.....easy on the fat and the carbs

Plus of course as much water as I can guzzle.

This takes me to about 1200 calories, made up of about:

25g fat
135g of protein
105g of effective carbs (made up mostly of fruit and veg)

And it appears to be working brilliantly...who knew?!

A Perfect Day......

..........and I just want to brag about it.

High on last nights personal training session (think interval training and thighs are killing me!) I have had a nigh on perfect day.

Have I eaten perfectly? Under 1200 calories, made up of proteins, low fat and effective carbs? Yes.

Have I exercised at my maximum heart rate for over 45 mins? Yes I have.

Have I skulled 2 litres of water? Yes I have.

Have I had plenty of fibre? yes I have?

Have I filled in Calorie King truthfully? Yes I have.

Cememting my successes.........

Well, the personal training is going well. I am exercising for at least 45 minutes every day, usually on the bike, as well as entering ALL items of food into Calorie King.

The actual sessions down at Foxfield are great....the other girls are amazing and despite being very very different, we are all getting on well.

There are so many learnings I am absorbing from this. For example, in relation to my plateau....."Trust your bodies response". ie It will happen. You will break the plateau. But you have to wait for your body and trust it, rather than having a frustrated temper tanty & pigging out.

Learning about how the body uses energy, and the fact that is uses alcohol, then carbs, then protein, then that order......was something I did already know, but had never really applied to my weekly intake.

So it is going well. Really well.

I saw Tony yesterday and that cemented a lot of my successes for me.....I know I have done a lot of good work on myself this year so far, and the best is yet to come.
